West Bend 74706
I have had this for a yoke months and absolutely love it. In fact, I am thinking about buying one for my mom and one for daughter. The toaster funtion makes pizza currency to die for. We have use the rotisserie a few times with chicken and pork skin and they came out excellent. I read other reviews that have neutralizing feedback, but I am totally pleased. I do not expect this to replace a $1000.00 oven or do what a $1000.00 oven does. But rather look at what I paid and how it performs for the moneyed. I am not bothered with a little hum while it bakes as long as it cooks well. When I need a big oven, I use the real factor. All other times, I use this. I use to own a Betty Crocker rotisserie and it served it's purpose for several years. However, I like this advantage because it can be used as a toaster, broiler, baker, and rotisserie. Yes, I would buy it again.

Bad oven
I bought this oven after our old Disgraceful & Decker started leaking grease all over our nice granite countertops. I was looking for a solidly built, multi-purpose oven with rotisserie. This one more than fits the bill. It's nice and roomy inside, cooks quickly and throughout, and does everything I've asked of it very well so far.
My only complaint so far is that the convection option can't be turned off. While it's great to have since it helps the eatables cook more quickly and evenly, it's annoying because I have to adjust all of my recipes/cooking times to make consistent it. I've found that keeping the temperature the same and cutting your cooking time in half just about gets it fix. Either that or knocking the temperature down by around 25°F and keeping the cooking time the same. Now that I'm getting the hang of adjusting the rations time/temp, the food is coming out wonderfully well cooked and browned.
The oven is well-built, unceremonious to clean and does just what you want it to do: cook small amounts of food promptly and without having to stoke up your big oven. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could, but 4 will have to do.

Unmixed performer
After viewing several particular toaster ovens and rotisseries in person, I went with the West Bend brand. Everything is working perfectly, the entryway is solid, and the unit feels well built. The chicken we rotisseried came out tender and fascinating!!

Very saddened in this product
We bought 2 of these units. Both were very noisy from the start...but we thought it was the crumb trays, and yes, after bending the trays a bit the noise was less but the doors also hum to the vibration of the oven fare...now down to the serious stuff...it takes FOREVER to toast. We have now had these units for 1 year and one no longer works appropriately..the upper burners don't work. We are so upset..paying $100 for this model!!! And that was on trade! Now I see why they went on sale.,..,probably had so many returns. I figure it's been a year so we will not be able to renewal the unit. Our loss, so I just have to go on web sites and give this product the lowest rating so others don't waste ready money.

Not what it old to be
I purchased my oven in June '09 hoping it would be the same excellent attribute of my former (same model) oven. I am very disappointed in the construction of thin, poorly insulated metal causing extravagant EXTERIOR heat. You cannot touch this machine once heated. The motor is noisey, it rattles continuously, and the distension/contraction sounds continue. The door hinges do not have a "stop" - the door lately flops open falling onto the countertop unlike the older ovens. The oven bakes well; the assay, both interior & exterior, are excellent being the primary reason I purchased this model again. Over the years I have owned West Bend toasters, roasters & coffee pots always very glad with the products and loved my former "toaster oven" model 74706!
I could not recommend the current West Bend #74706 until structure quality is improved. This is a manufacturer problem, not AMAZON.

Faster than a toaster oven - no more squushy microwave meals
I have toasted, english muffins , thick-cut fruit nut head, buns; made fries, chicken strips, stuffed mushrooms, pizza, omelets (in frivolous glass dish) & salmon filets. Brussel sprouts and butternut squash next...
I am enjoying this submission very much. It is easy to clean and more versatile than anything else that i looked at. My toaster is now in the cupboard and I don't miss it. I thought that this would be reach-me-down now and then as others have written, but I have yet to put it away. It does use a lot of counter space but I find it to be worth while.
It creates a convection without the tumultuous fan. Anything too thick to cook in here, I would probably grill or bake anyways. Just about everything I put in it tastes better than from a microwave. Critical design and solidly made. I snatched it up at a great price of $69.99 including free shipping.

Noble idea, but not a substitute for a toaster oven.
I talked my better half into buying one of these when our toaster oven failed. It turns out that this is not a toaster oven or anything close in my perception. It is great for certain foods that benefit from sitting on a solid hot surface, but not that great for sustenance you want to "toast", that is, expose to a burner directly from both sides, like a toaster.
I tried "toasting" cash with it and it really didn't work so well.
The deal breaker for us was the accessability factor. Our oldest son is virtuous learning to use appliances. He can open a toaster oven door, put something on the grill, close the entrance way, and press the on button safely, and then remove his food after the oven goes off. But that requires front permission, and this is a top access device.
Furthermore, when you open the top it's just one huge hot surface, and even I as an adult would insufficiency to be very careful and use a spatula to get stuff off the surface. Then there's the exposed hot element in the upper lid that you have open while you're carfully getting your eats off the hot surface of this oven.
So, as far a teaching our kids the basics of running appliances, this one is a non-starter and we sent it back.
Pity though. I rather liked it myself, and I long we had the counter space and a genuine need to keep it.

friendly little oven for the breakroom!
This is a fastidious little oven. It combines utility and perfection in a small size. It has a nice little footprint so it does not take up much room. For such a little thing, it is a real dynamo!
We use it in a staff breakroom. It gets a lot of friction and tear. It is holding up very well.
We have been making all sorts of things in it. Pizzas come out very well. We have even baked a pre-suitable for eating ham in it. Every thing comes out very well, perfectly cooked and delectable!
The clean up is pretty easily done. All in all, we like it a lot!

Enticing, economical, highly recommended
This fun scanty unit is a counter-top convection oven that is designed for baking pizzas, hors d'oeuvres, and other paltry foods. It has a relatively small footprint (meaning no pizza larger than 12 inches) and even when opened it panic comfortably on the counter-top beneath the cupboards. It's black and silver finish gives it an appealing look that means that you won't mind leaving it on the counter all the time.
You place the food on a spiraling baking tray, and it cooks it in a quick and even manner, making it an excellent alternative to the microwave oven. I have an energized oven in the kitchen, which seems to take hours to warm up. This oven, on the other hand, begins cooking almost unhesitatingly, which means that it is more economical for small projects.
My family and I have found this to be a great new way to cook pizzas and mozzarella sticks and other snacks. We have had no problems with it so far, and look into the open to using it for a long time to come. We all highly recommend this oven to you and your family.

Worked well, but overpriced for what it does
I wasn't absolutely sure what to think of this item, as it wasn't a traditional toaster oven, but it also wasn't a George Overseer like grill either.
What I made with it came out pretty well, cooking frozen chicken breasts while keeping them thrilling (unlike the George Foreman grill). I think this would be very useful if you're into making a lot of snacks, like pizza and chicken nuggets, but like all selfish appliances, its usefulness is limited by the room it takes up when you're not using it, the need to clean it after use, and the hassle of location it up in order to use it.
I would gladly pay $75 for such an item, but the going price of almost $150 is too much for what it does.

» West Bend Soho Toaster Oven
I love my toaster oven! I use it every single day to cook or heat up things like mini frozen pizzas, Hot Pockets, and french fries. It’s a lot faster and more convenient than the regular oven, and cooks this type of food far more evenly than my microwave does. The only problem is that I use my toaster oven so much that I have to replace it pretty frequently because it simply gets worn out or covered in caked on crumbs and gunk.
Anyway, I was over at Buy.com this morning looking at possible replacement candidates. I saw this West Bend Soho Toaster Oven that looks similar to the one I have now. It fits two slices (which is plenty of capacity for my purposes), and has a controllable temperature setting that goes from 150 degrees to 450 degrees. Plus, it has a removable crumb tray and a 15-minute timer, just like the model I’m using now.
I’m sure this Soho Toaster Oven would be a terrific replacement for my old one, so I’m planning on ordering it very soon. It’s currently on sale for just $21.99 (with free shipping), which is an awesome price. It won’t take me long to save up the money for this item — and I’ll have my brand-new toaster oven just in time to make all of my warm lunches for these cool fall days!

I had been looking around for a while, trying to find the toaster oven that does it all...I had been looking mainly at cuisinart and cheaper version - black and decker. Eventually, when my older little toaster landed in trash, I revised my research again and found this one. I decided to purchase this toaster oven right away, mainly based on the number of options it offers; it not only toasts (more toasts can be done at the same time than in the regular toaster), but it also bakes, grills and has a rotisserie!

Just received our West Bend 74706 and tried it right out. Be advised to wipe it down inside and out for dust and then heat it up empty for about 15 minutes as it may smoke a bit as it heats up for the first time. First to note that it is built extremely solid. I've looked at every oven like this at Costco, WalMart, Sears, etc and not one had the solidity that this one has. The handle on the West Bend is rock solid as is the entire build quality of this model. Many other model's handles flex up and down considerably during use and I question how long they would last. We also like the analog dials rather then digital (and easier to see if you use reading glasses and want to avoid hard-to-read digital displays). Low tech adds up to ease of use and less that can go wrong over time! It also...
