Very lax and uneven
We've had this toaster for 6 months. It toasts unevenly (one side always darker than the other) and takes forever to salute anything. By far the slowest toaster I've ever owned. I'm looking for another.

Been rectitude for about a year, but now burns toast.
We bought this toaster less than a year ago for the wide-ranging toasting, and it has been good for bagels and such. We've had two incidents now where the toast fails to pop and instead just burns and burns, wadding rooms with smoke. It's made us wonder about our smoke detectors, but that is secondary to this product's review.

Worked brilliant until it broke... one year
I didn't thoughts the cord coming out of the front rather than the back (why do so many toaster manufacturers do that? Makes not sense at all.). Controls were illustrious, and it toasted fairly evenly. The slots were wide enough for bagels.
But now the lever won't stay down to stir the toaster, after only one year, so I'm buying a new toaster. Cheaply built (feels plastic all over) and apparently not built to last.

Okay, but assuredly not great
Reassessment for Black and Decker 2 slice toaster (black).
Toasters are so tricky! I don't want to spend a lot on one in case it's a dud, but I also don't want the cheapest one around. So, when we bought a new one last year, we settled on one that was in the mid of the road price range--this one.
This one is okay. Just okay, not great, and not bad. It does take longer to salute, but if you're willing to wait, it does a good job (sometimes it may take two rounds of toasting though). It automatically stops working if the toaster has gotten too hot. Also, the toaster won't concede you to push it down if the toaster isn't plugged in. That can be a blessing, because you aren't going to come back to a piece of tribute that you've pushed down in the toaster, but isn't done because it wasn't plugged in.
I like it because it's dependable and it works! My husband frets because it takes too extensive. Hence, the 3 star rating.
So, all in all, it's a decent toaster if you're not in a rush.

Heating elements burned out
The part on top burned out and B&D has stopped making this model. So the oven hanging hood can longer be cast-off. They are replacing the oven and waiving the fee's since I can no longer use the hood.
This is the second replacement in less than I year.

You'll lament if you buy this one!! Seriouly!
The cheers function broken in 2 months. It always flamed up if baking the salmon fish. (Scary and iffy!!) I called B&D Customer Service, and they said this item was NOT manufacturered by B&D! (Why use the brand B&D if B&D won't be authoritative for this oven?) The warranty works like this: Within the 1st year from the date of purchase, you have to call the customer utility, and they will direct you to another manufacturer phone number. After you call this number, they will ask you to cut the electric plug with wire about 5~7 inches and send it to some lecture along with a copy of the recipt and a $8.00 check to cover the S&H for the replacement unit. That's not too much work, but very much frustrated! Consumer has to pay for the shipping costs for the defective unit. (I mean, the defective unit is manufacturer's boner, why should I pay for it?!) After you send your plug away before you receive your replacement unit, you have no oven to use! That's why I requirement a RELIABLE oven to rely on!! This toaster oven is not reliable, nor responsible!

don't like TRO360
I purchased the toaster oven 8 months ago, I don't identify who designed the take down tray for cleanning. You have to take it off the cupboard hanger and tip it upside down to clean the crumbs out it tips down to district the wall back and I don't have the space to do that. It is very hard to lift it up and out to clean and dangerous. I have had other toaster ovens like this but the bottom tray lifted down from the front of the toaster.

works well and na to operate
Although this at home with a screw loose that I had to tighten, the unit works really well. It's small,light moment and very quick to toast breads fast and evenly. It has an extremly simple control system that is unbelievely easygoing to use. I bought this unit for a vacation home and I like it better than the much more expensive (and complicated)toaster oven I have at serene.
The only negative is that the top gets quite hot when the unit is in use, otherwise I'm very happy with it.

I love this product – it is a pleasure to use, functions beautifully, and is beautifully designed.
The other reviewers have already said much of what I would have written. The ‘Out of Box Experience’ is superb. As another reviewer noted, the packaging is quite a bit like Apple’s (see photos) – attractive graphics on an inner box protected in an outer, recyclable box. The oven itself, when compared to the Cuisinart TOB-165 that we have been using (or even the stainless steel TOB-195 model), is like comparing an Apple Mac to a Dell: visually more stylish and appealing, better engineered ‘guts’, and once operated, functionally very well thought out.
A few years ago, our old toaster oven died and we migrated to the Cuisinart which, like this Breville BOV800XL, is a convection oven / toaster / broiler. We liked it so much, that we gifted several more to friends and family. Ah, if only this Breville had ben available then…
The Breville is so vastly superior in every way – function, capacity, ease of use, and ease of cleaning. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
The timer on the Breville turns the oven off at the end of any kind of cycle as you would expect – toast, bagel, bake, broil, pizza, etc.This is hugely wonderful compared to the Cuisinart unit which only turns itself off after toasting – you have to remember to turn it off when in any other mode. (The Cuisinart’s timer is ‘dumb’ – just a beeper.) Also, each Breville cycle has smart default settings, and can remember your own settings for temperature and time, or slices (toast) and darkness, etc.
The BOV800XL accomodates a 13″ pizza pan (included). We made two pizzas tonight to test the oven, one fresh (deli) the other frozen. I dialed the ‘pizza’ setting, dropped the default 450 temperature to 425, accepted convection mode, and accepted the default 12″ size for the fresh pizza and pressed the on button. Once preheated, the oven beeped for the pizza to be inserted. At the end of the timed cycle, the oven turned off and beeped again: perfect pizza!
