    Sewing Supplies are so material!
I bought this kit along with the new sewing enlist "Sew On". This kit has everything you need to be sewing for years to come. They specifically go well with the Sew Fast Sew Easy or Sew On books because it comes with stretchable which is used in patterns in either of the books. I love the Gingher scissors, they cut perfectly and are like $40 scissors. This kit is a undeniably good value. Check out the "Sew on" book. It has great sewing patterns and projects.

    iron seams
The mini-iron does a tolerably good job for ironing seams and small areas. The stand is a must although I wish it were a bit more sturdy.
A able little iron for seams and corners
This hardly any iron works great for pressing corners and seams. I keep it right by my sewing machine so I don't have to trek over to my ironing board every time I want to press down a seam or corner.

Can't opt for if I like it or not
I am continually at my ironing board with sewing and quilting projects and was hoping this little iron would make it easier to the wire small seams without burning my fingertips all the time. After using it a number of times I find myself returning to my Rowenta iron to do the travail instead of this little iron. Whether it is just that I am familiar with my iron and don't like that this doesn't have steam, I don't recall, but it doesn't work as well as my Rowenta at pressing open seams or pressing small and naughty seams.
    Clover mini iron
My latest quilt was a Sampler Quilt, 140 manifold six inch squares. Many of these squares had as many as 40+ pieces. This little iron was very handy for these taste seams, and very convenient to have right next to the machine. After purchasing this iron many of my friends had me order them one when they saw how well this worked. Not having to keep a immense iron on during the time that one is sewing or getting up and down to press one seam is a great energy saver too.

I Have A Notion: Clover and Nancy Zieman

Nancy uses in her handbag construction really caught my eye. It is basically a double sided adhesive (very good adhesive...really sticks if you know what I mean) and it adheres to fabric, paper, plastic or wood. Nancy uses it for the construction of her handbags. I could think of 1,000 uses for that wonderful stuff. I bought 3 rolls just for myself....no kidding. When I want to put embellishments or Punchneedle on top of other creations and I don't want the stitching to show....I'm using this adhesive!!! . Mary Jane discovered it at Quilt Market and it has been a huge....huge....huge success. I've lost count of the number of thimbles I've sold and everyone comes back to tell me how much they like them. Beware.....they seem to disappear quickly....someone asks to see it and yep.....it gets passed around and then gone!!! Truth is they are not stolen....I end up giving mine away....the person liked it so much I had to give them mine. Guess I need to carry a stash in my van ay?

Don’t skimp on fabrics, because quality, tightly woven cottons will extend the life of your quilts.

Iron and Ironing Board - Any iron and ironing board you already have will work just fine. If you don’t own an iron, find one that’s fairly heavy, because it’s the combination of weight and heat that presses your quilting components. Cotton Thread - Put away the polyester and cotton-wrapped polyester threads you use to make clothing, because they’re too abrasive for a cotton quilt. You don’t have to buy lots of different colors of thread — either medium gray or tan usually blend with most fabrics. The same cotton thread used for piecing works well for machine quilting. If you plan to hand quilt, buy cotton quilting thread, but don’t use hand quilting thread in your sewing machine. is an expensive sounding name that describes a very simple tool–a place to tack your quilt blocks and other components up so that you can step back and look at them singly or together. One or two large pieces of white flannel work just fine. So does thin quilt batting. Blocks and other pieces stick nicely to both materials.

Seam Ripper - We all have to rip out seams once in awhile.

Simple Things Here: Red Clover Clutch

Well, let's see....a little bit about me....As you might be able to tell I like to dabble in a bit of everything. I'm never really satisfied doing just one thing. As long as I can remember I have always been interested in creating things and working for myself. In addition to the bookmarks I made everything from bracelets to little yarn poodles and sold them in consignment shops. As I got older I continued on the same path and it led me to take my creative passion to a professional level with my photography. In my spare time I experiment with other arts that I love, like sewing. I've always got future projects rolling around in my head. Like right now I have some ideas for some clothing that I'm working on. We'll see what happens! I'm just an ordinary girl with an ordinary life doing what makes me happy. I have been making this style of clutch for only about three months but have been sewing since I was a little girl. I used to make "bookmarks" (which consisted of a strip of fabric folded over and sewn down the side) on my Cabbage Patch Kids sewing machine and send them with my dad to the pool room. I thought he could sell them to all of his buddies while they played pool. I sold them for a quarter a piece and he always came home with a handful of money for me. I was so excited at how well they sold and always kept a good stock for him to take with him. When I graduated high school my parents gave me this book called Daughters and marked their favorite pages with the bookmarks I had made! I still have them to this day and actually use them! I am married to the best man ever. We have no children and do not plan on having any (kids are not for everyone). We have a cat though (Toby) who we treat as our child. I love my family more than anything. Tragedy struck us a few years ago. It still brings tears to my eyes to see how my family pulled together and was there for each other. My mom is my best friend. She is the one person that I can tell anything to. I cannot wait...
