Blomberg refrigerators - IKEA FANS
I know it's a long shot, but I was hoping someone on here actually HAS one and can let me know about repairs, etc. From what I understand, though, they're quite new to the US, so I doubt very many people have them yet -- and especially since they make compact, euro-sized fridges (which is exactly what will fit in my small bungalow kitchen). I've been thinking about both the 24 and 30" Liebherrs. They're gorgeous pieces of industrial design. But soooo pricey. There's an 80% chance I'm going to be renting my house out in 4-5 years or so, and I can't justify spending 3-4k on a fridge for my renters. :-/ I've spent hours drooling over them in the appliance store. They're right next to the Blombergs

Yale Appliance + Lighting: Buy This, Not That...Maybe
Yes, the French doors look cool but I think people underestimate how much they use their freezer. My niece and her family of 4 have a French door and the freezer is jammed with kids treats, frozen pizzas, entrees and leftovers. The treasure chest is difficult to get something quickly without resorting the contents, and it sometimes prevents the french doors from closing. I'll keep my side by side for now...I simply reach in and get what I need. Plus I REALLY like the ice and filtered water thru the door.
