Customer Reviews
Finery oven ever!I purchased a 220 Volt Advantium Oven as the convection groceries time is half that of the 120 Volt model. You do not have to run a thick, super heavy duty tiring 220 volt cable as you might with an electric range. I ran a 220volt-12 Gauge copper wire which was very adaptable and easy to install. The amperage on this oven is not that high. I have had this unit almost since it was first introduced. The new model has many needed improvements since mine. You will disposition it. I rarely use my large gas range-convection oven except for the cook top. The Advantium also mixes unique levels of Microwave and Convection Heat to get great cooking results. Use it separately as a micro or convection oven too. Many users do not understand that it was also designed to combine these two energy sources. You also need to know when to use the round metal tray, herd white ceramic tray, or round open metal grid tray. Pore over THE MANUAL until you get the hang of it. Nobody does. My service guy used a metal tray when he poached fish in a pyrex suffused dish! Poor results. Dahhh! He didn't read the COOKING MANUAL, upstanding the REPAIR MANUAL. It also makes a great range hood vent and turns itself on thermostatically or manually if you remissness to. I also use the programable hood light as a night light. This has been the best appliance I have ever purchased and is significance the extra money. Treat yourself! If you are a "Ding-Ding" cook and just microwave cold coffee and white dinners, don't buy this! This is for COOKS!
How do you say in your mother country? DESIGN FLAW....
Over the tack of the last 6 years we have had to replace the door handle on the unit 4 times. They tried to say we were too close to the oven, but that was not the protection. Confirmed by the repair people that installed the replacements. Two of the handles were replaced under warranty. The last two we had to covering ourselves. We just had the magnetron go out (Sparking inside. That was exciting.) and are still waiting to find out if that will be covered by warranty. If not, the fettle will be about $300. Which is about the time I will probably purchase another manufacturers' microwave...

Also, we never use the convection oven physiognomy.
Beloved my Advantium!
I have had my Advantium for about 5 years and I mate it! The other reviewer says you have to have a 220V outlet, but that's not true for this oven. It does come in BOTH sizes, and since the christen of this item says "120", it will plug into a regular outlet.
It's not a really simple to use microwave, but it's darned versatile. It is very easy, with one push, to make it do 30-second microwave increments at 100%, but if you pauperism to microwave at a lower percent, you really have to know what you're doing! (Turn to "time-pastry-cook" under "microwave" , push "enter", then select your time, press "enter", and then turn the power dial and mill "enter" again!) I've always said that you can't be simple-minded and use this machine!
I love having a undersized oven which bakes (and REALLY "bake", and not microwave) a casserole or baked goods. It's also wonderful at re-heating pizza using "speediness-cook" in just a VERY few minutes, on its black oven tray. It comes out crispy and not floppy like it does when reheated in a microwave.
I'm indubitable it will do a lot more than I have used it for, and I think it's a great combination oven.
I enyoy my Advantium, but a huddle to the wise......
I luv my Advantium, however those all things this oven need to know it does require a 220 v outlet. It will brown foods with halogen bulbs on top and bottom, bakes cookies and breads, yum!I have had my Advantium for about 7 years with equitably light to moderate use when a fuse had to be replaced, along with some electrical panel work. Sears will calling on these ovens and that cost me a little over 300 bucks. So my frustration was, here I purchased what I thought was a well-made, high excellence oven/microwave, and it let me down after only 7 years. OH, also it malfunctioned again early this year and I am trying to decide whether to get it fixed or barely buy a regular microwave. IN the meantime, i am using my 26 year old JCpenneys microwave until I decide what to do. They don't make'em like they cast-off to!!!

I have a GE microwave model je1456kwh02 that has a broken door latch. This model has been discontinued so I can no longer buy a replacement latch. The only option now is to buy a new microwave. Does anyone know of a replacement that has the same specs? My cabinets were built with this one and I am having a hard time to try to find something to fit. Thanks

GE Microwave Oven | Best Brand to Buy
Our earliest ancestors cooked their meat over an open fire. Later, humans harnessed the power of coal, electricity and natural gas in order to power ovens and stoves and get their household cooking done. After that, it seemed like there was nowhere else to go when it came to the world of cooking, but that turned out not to be so. Because soon after, the GE microwave oven was born.
A GE microwave oven has proven itself to be an invaluable appliance in the modern kitchen. It can be used to cook food from a raw state, or heat up previously cooked food from mom’s kitchen or even that restaurant meal you had the night before. For cooks, the GE microwave oven was a stupendous invention. If they were in a hurry, no longer were they forced to turn on the oven in order to cook or heat up food. Because of its relatively small size, the GE microwave oven is much more efficient when it come to small cooking or reheating jobs than its oven counterparts.
Cooks throughout time have also effortlessly worked the GE microwave oven into their cooking routines. Instead of leaving frozen chicken parts of cuts of beef out overnight in order to defrost them, cooks are able to use the GE microwave oven’s handy and convenient defrost feature. Also, if a gourmet cook is preparing an elaborate gourmet meal, he or she is easily able to use the GE microwave oven as another cooking appliance. If all four eyes and the oven are full, why not use the microwave to accomplish one of the many cooking tasks associated with preparing a gourmet meal?
But how do GE microwave ovens work? GE microwave ovens use dielectric heating in order to accomplish their cooking and reheating tasks. This form of heating is achieved because the GE microwave oven uses microwave radiation to heat the water and other polarized molecules within food. Microwave heating is especially convenient, because the techniques it employs allow the food to be heated all the way through. This feature of GE microwave oven heating is unique in the world of heating and reheating. Even when heating or reheating in the oven, it is often difficult to get a food item heated all the way through without changing the taste of the dish or perhaps scorching it around the edges. Still, GE microwave ovens are not miracle machines, and sometimes they do fail to heat up the centers of especially thick objects.

This General Electric Microwave is the second one i have owned in 25yrs. Both have been under the cabinet installed, which is easliy done. When installed under the cabinet, it leaves more room for work space. They are very durable and long lasting. I will say this new one has many different features, from the one i owned in the pass. It has a turn table inside and more modern features. Of course the old one was 20yrs old.
It is very easy to use, and the pads are easy to push. I do use it alot for defrosting, and as a quick warming appliance. With a browning dish i do cook hamburgers often. We enjoy warming all breads by using the defrost feature. This feature will make your breads soft and warm. I have found ,not to use the cook feature when heating breads or pastries, it only recooks things and makes them hard. As in all microwaves make sure to use microwave safe dishes or paper plate products. Covering your food will make cleaning the microwave easier, too. The removable turntable makes it easy to clean the inside of the appliance. Alittle soap and water and your done.
If i get as many years out of this one as the last one, my money is well spent. I just have no complaints when something last as long as these microwaves from General Electric. Safety in removing hot food is very important.
