Just about everybody knows that Bosch makes dishwashers that border on the sublime, if a dishwasher can be called sublime. But what a lot of people don't know is that the same level of quality and engineering that goes into Bosch's dishwashers also extends to their ranges, microwave ovens and refrigerators. Bosch's better dishwashers are a luxury appliance, no apology there. But Bosch makes appliances across many price ranges, they're not automatically luxury-priced. As if to drive home that point in these troubled times, the gang and Bosch sent me an e-mail yesterday with a reminder than an entry level suite of Bosch appliances can be had for less than four thousand dollars. That's not a gimmick or a sale either. A $4000 appliance package ordinarily gets you Whirlpool, GE Profile or Maytag. But for the same money you could be in a suite of slick and efficient Bosch appliances. Wow. As if that weren't enough, Bosch is running a rebate program right now. Purchase a freestanding range, an over-the-range microwave oven and dishwasher and you'll get $150 back. There's an additional rebate of up to $200 on Bosch's Linea side-by-side refrigerators too. Like I said earlier, wow. Poke around on Bosch's website, you'll be impressed too.

Amana Refrigerator not working - sort of? - Appliance Repair Forum
I have an Amana refrig that stopped cooling - both sides. I moved it to the garage. It was unplugged for a week or two. Just for fun I plugged it back in and it worked fine. It worked for about 4 months. Then we had a hot humid day and the garage door was open all day with a lot of in and out of the refrig. The refrig went out again.

Where can I sell 1980's black kitchen appliances?
Q: My husband and I are remodeling a home in Dallas, TX and are about to take out all of the old appliances (all black, 1980's appliances). We have a built-in Subzero fridge, Jenn-air range, microwave, oven and a Bosch dishwasher (white). Does anyone know where I can sell these??

KENMORE vs BOSCH - Should be easy decision but isn't - Help?
Q: We have our home listed for sale. One of the remarks on the MLS listing is 'top of the line appliances'. We have a "Sub Zero (Brand) Refrigerator/Freezer, an Electric Bosch Convection Oven and a Bosch Regular Oven (Both in Wall), the Microwave is a Convection too - a Bosh. The Dishwasher is also a Bosch.
PROBLEM: My husband dropped a metal fry pan on the Counter Top Electric Cook Range which was Bosch also. It shattered. We have to replace it. To replace the Bosch would be almost $3,000 -- to put in a top of the line Kenmore Cooktop would be approximately $900.
If you were buying a home would a new Kenmore Electric Cooktop turn you off....should we have spent $2,000 extra on the Bosch?
Please answer while we have time to get out of the contract (if necessary).

A: put in the kenmore and get a service contract, thru sears to repair any other screw ups, will also help your home sell
How do I get the best deal on my kitchen appliances?
Q: I am buying my first home and the appliance that are in there absolutely have to go (most don't even work, let alone they are 20 years old). I want to get good stuff, but I don't need the top of the line. I want to get a good deal on my appliances, but I want to get the job done right. I work in IT so I would consider myself pretty savvy. I have searched online at various retailers, compared what a lot of models have to offer, have a general price point of what items may cost. I also went in to Home Depot, Pacific Sales, Sears, Sears Outlet, Costco, etc.
So I am in San Diego and I want to buy a refrigerator, cook top (30" gas), wall oven (30"), microwave/hood combo (over cook top). What suggestions might everyone on here have at getting the best deal possible? Where might you recommend I shop to find the best deal? What about possible rebates, coupons, etc.? Any specific things to look out for when purchasing? Warranty? Installation? Possible (or not) package deal savings?
What about fitment? Might I have issues with various 30" appliances fitting in where the previous Magic Chef 30" stuff is already? I can take pictures and exact measurements, maybe that can help in purchasing more precisely?

Regarding craigslist. I have been looking for the last 1-2 weeks and the only thing I have seen that looks like I can find an ample amount of on there are Refrigerators. I can get a good deal on one of those and Washer/Dryer. But buying an oven and cook top on there seems hard to find and not the kind/size/color I want (yet).
