Sunbeam Steam Master Iron Motion Smart Auto Off Review
I have to admit I bought this iron not only because I've had an old Sunbeam that lasted me for 25 years but because I fell in love with the orange color!! I don't make a living of ironing a lot of clothes but you also can't go without having an iron, at least I can't.
This is the Sunbeam Steam Master Iron with Motion Smart Auto-Off. It's a nice ergonomic design in a lovely white and orange color. The main difference between this Sunbeam and my old model is that it's not cordless which meant constantly setting the iron in a charging base that drove me crazy. I like that this base is flat and easily stands at the end of my compact ironing board (no big clunky ironing board for me!).
Some of the great features that I like about this Sunbeam Model 4235 are:
**Spray Mist Release - this is a powerful spray mist which is great for heavily wrinkled clothes and doing pant creases
**Shot of Steam Feature - this gives me an extra burst of steam for really deep or stubborn wrinkles. I can use this feature whether I am dry or steam ironing. You just have to make sure the fabric button is set to select fabrics.
**30 Minute Auto-Off - are you like me and halfway to work and panic wondering if you turned something off. Well, worry no more.....if you leave the iron plugged in the feature automatically turns your iron off after 30 minutes.
**Motion Smart Auto-Off Feature - When the iron is plugged in I can see the power light is on. If I were to leave the iron in a horizontal position or if I were to accidentally tip it over, the iron will automatically stop heating after 30 seconds. Of course no one should ever fully rely on special safety features but I feel safer knowing they are there in case I should slip up.
**Storage Strip Indicator - theres a tiny strip on the side of the iron which when cold is black in color. When I turn the iron on it changes to red and tells me I cannot store it at this temperature. It takes about half an hour for the strip to turn black again when I'm done ironing and that tells me it's cool and safe to store back in the closet.

This is a general all purpose iron which will serve a wide variety of uses with it's variety of features. The first feature that I look for in an iron is an auto off which this iron does have however a negative is that it can be turned on again by just tipping it over which can be a problem if you have children or pets.
Steam output is easily adjustable and may be activated in both a horizontal or vertical position. Steam activation in a vertical position allows you to freshen up that seldom worn clothes item without setting up an ironing board. It also allows you to remove any creases or freshen items that can't easily be taken to an ironing board such as drapes.
The full size water tank is easily filled by using the spout mounted on the front of the iron. This iron comes in a pleasing lavender and chrome adding a little fun to this home appliance.
Temperature and steam controls are well placed for one hand operation however the markings are very faint and are very difficult to see. Another very important feature on this iron is that it can be turned off, some irons on the market can only be completely turned off by unplugging them.

I love this iron. I had a Rowenta that didn't do half the job, was three times the price, and committed suicide by jumping off the ironing board. Disgusted, I picked up this little gem and I am delighted. It's light weight, but feels solid. It generates copious amounts of steam, heats up fast, stays on for a decent amount of time (before automatically shutting off), and best of all, is stable on its rear end. The Rowenta kept tipping over, was heartless about shutting itself off, and wasn't nearly as nimble and efficient as this lovely little iron.
