    Please Help-Dacor Cooktop Igniter Knob Problem - ApplianceBlog.com ...

I have a Dacor 4 Burner Cooktop LP gas with electronic igniters. The right front knob will not push down to ignite and turn the gas on. It’s probably broken. I can lift the entire cooktop up off the counter and view where the electric cord plugs in the wall and where the gas line connects to the cooktop, but I can’t figure out how to remove & replace the knob/ igniter, which is in a sheet metal box attached to the stove top and which appears to be a sealed unit. I have sent emails to Dacor repeatedly to no avail..can anyone help me? I’m located in very rural area miles from any appliance repair guys. Also anyone have any ideas where I may find a new igniter if I can replace it? My stovetop is about 20 years old, is a Model # GGC304/LP and also has a Ser. # 722966. I don’t want to remove any of the burners until I halfway understand what I’m going to replace…So far I think I need a new knob…since it refuses to push down or turn at all. Can you tell me how I get to that valve/knob? Do I remove all 4 of the burners? And then will the whole glass top come off??? Your right about that brass ring..looks like it takes a special tool to fit in the notches on each side of the ring. Will I end up taking all 4 burners off? I have researched the Internet using Model # and Serial # for my DACOR cooktop…without any luck…The Dacor people are usless...referring me to one repairman who lives 25 miles from here. I contacted him, explained my problem, he has never called me back…I’ll take a picture again of the center brass ring, and include it with my next message…just reply to me here so I know you’re still out there… Glad to hear back from you, but unfortunately, I did some checking around and the valves for your cook top don't seem to be available anymore from conventional sources. Since the knob will no longer push down or turn, it sounds like a gas valve has failed. Not having access to the part may be the reason your local servicer never called back. I will...

The new Dacor cooktop comes in two stainless steel models - 36" wide 6-burner DRT366S and 30" wide 4-burner DRT304S. The efficient sealed gas burners allow wide range of cooking. Both Millennia cooktops have unique SimmerSear burners with melting feature - the DRT366S has two while the DRT304S comes with one - making it easy to precisely simmer, sear and saute at ultra-high or ultra-low temps up to 18,000 BTUs. In addition, the DRT366S has two 15,000 BTU and two 9,500 BTU gas burners. The DRT304S offers two 15,000 BTU and one 9,500 BTU burners. Dacor also incorporated its sleek indicator lights that glow flame-blue when the burner is on, and oversized push-turn knobs for easy and safe flame adjustment. For your safety, the Perma-Flame feature automatically re-ignites the flame if it ever goes out. To protect finish and longevity of the continuous platform grates, cooktops are equipped with Dacor Smart Flame technology to reduce flame output under each grate finger. Other features and accessories include porcelain-enameled spill basin for easy cleaning, optional griddle, searing grill, wok ring and wok. And either Dacor cooktop can be perfectly matched with Dacor raised vent . Dacor .
