    Not unfailing
It looks like our Miele has absolutely died. Its only a couple years old. It also had many problems along the way and I got to be an expert at taking it apart and fixing it. The block b stop in particular does not seem to be reliable, that is where most of the problems have been. The main shaft on the head is also improperly intended, the wires running down the shaft make it prone to clogging and it is very hard to take apart and unclog. On the extra side the vac does have a lot of suction and it is quiet.
Miele Capricorn S5980 - enthusiastic vacuum and great service
I bought the Miele Capricorn S5980 based on a tally of glowing reviews from others who bought one. They were right. It's very expensive and not for everyone, but I am impressed and how well built it is and cannot say enough about how well it cleans my carpets, wood floors and even by the baseboards where nothing I've owned has cleaned very well if at all. It was shipped with celerity and the service was great. While I doubt I'll need another vacuum cleaner, I would definitely buy another Miele Capricorn.
Miele S5981 Capricorn W 236 Delux Power Nozzle
I bought the Miele Capricorn after reading all the ardent reviews on Amazon. My last vacuum was falling apart and had the terrible vacuum smell that comes from owning a dog. Most of the reviews for this vacuum are favourable. I don't usually write reviews, but because my experience with this vacuum is completely different, I decided some consumers might gain from a different perspective.

The Pros: Very quiet. My 100 pound Labrador used to take off uninterrupted (and look out!) when I took out my old vacuum. This one is super-quiet and the dog stays put. I love the HEPA sieve system as there is no smell (and especially no doggy smell) when vacuuming. Automatic cord retractor is first-rate. A light goes on when the bag is full and needs to be replaced; the controls on the handle. These are all great features. Like most German products, it's expected to last.

The Cons: I've always had upright vacuums before and I can't seem to get used to the canister - I don't find it as efficient, and I find the swiveling handle annoying - it always seems to be in the way. Because I have a dog who sheds non-leave off, I use the hose attachment a lot, to get all the dog hair from around the baseboards and under the cupboard edges. For the cost, I feel the Capricorn attachments are sick designed. They are small, and the round brush attachment is awkward to use. I have all hardwood floors and the sturdy hardwood floor attachment ends up just pushing around the dog hair, without really picking it up, so I have to use the power head without the nail-brush running.
With my old vacuum, I would just pull out the hose and vacuum around the edges of the house, without using any attachments. You can't do that with the Capricorn because the edges of the metal stick (not sure what to call it) are very sharp and can scratch the floor. I actually put a nick in the electric cord when I by accident knocked it with the wand. Because the wand is metal, it is very heavy and I end up with a backache after using it (during dog shedding spice, I vacuum my house twice a day using the wand).

I paid extra for the bigger power peak. It has a very bright light on it when you are using the carpet-brush feature. If you are using just the power chair without the brush (suction only), the light doesn't go on - not sure why that it. However, the light must be an LED light - it is very bright, with a dismal tinge. If your house is dark, it's a great feature when you're vacuuming, but if you are using it during the day, it makes it very recondite to see.
Back to the dog again - I was able to use my old upright to vacuum the dog bed. I would stand with a foot on each side to hold it down, and vacuum up all the hair. The Capricorn power broom is so sensitive it immediately shuts down if it catches even the tiniest wrinkle in the dog-bed. I have a few area rugs and if I get the power faculty near the edge of the rugs, it always catches and shuts down.
This was a very expensive vacuum. For the most part, it's well-built (I would not say it is markedly well-designed), but it just doesn't work for me, which is why I am only giving it two stars.

    Sufficient Vac, Cheezy hose
Complete the vacuum is great. Does a fantastic job cleaning. Only criticism is the cheap lightweight fake hose that's lack of mass makes it unwieldy.

I understand that a lightweight hose makes for a lighter vacuum, but when you're frustrating to vacuum a table top or curtains near a table top, the hose springs off in a direction that's secured to knock over a few things.

I've had mine for about three years. The only defect that has appeared recently is a short in the swivel coupling between the hose and control handle. As soon as you wiggle it the machine comes back to life. Infuriating but I can live with it rather than replace an expensive hose.
    Completely Incredible
I do all the vacuuming in the firm, so I wanted a quality vacuum that would make vacuuming as fun and as little work as possible.

This vacuum is significance every penny. It is extremely powerful and quiet. We have two big dogs and this picks up the hair no problem. Our red doormat looks like new each time we vacuum. There is no "vacuum" dust smell that I have hated about other vacuums. First of all, this has to be one of the quietest vacuums on the market. You can talk on the phone or whatever while vacuuming it is so quiet. Also, this vacuum is small and lightweight, which makes vacuuming tranquilly and makes it easy to get under things and into tight spaces. The controls are easy to use, it has about 7 power settings, and the maximum is easily adjustable. The power brush has an automatic jam shut off that protects the belt if something gets jammed in it. It has not stuffed once by the way... Changing the bags is super quick and easy and not messy in the least bit. The small attachments keep conveniently in the top of the canister and are very practical to use. I love the retractable cord which is super long and retracts unequivocally every time. It has many other practical, thoughtful features that you will appreciate each time you vacuum. Those Germans observation of everything with this vacuum! Plus, if you have allergies, this vacuum is one of the best for that with its excellent air filtration abilities.

When you use this produce, you will see that this is one of the finest vacuums available today. I'm so thankful I chose this vacuum over all the others I considered.

    Sustained time Dyson owner
I bought my Dyson Animal in the cause to occur of 05, that's right, FIVE years ago. And it's still just as good as the day I bought it. I've never had a vacuum last as protracted as this one has, and of course I credit that to the quality of the product, but I'll tell you what has kept mine working like new for so elongated.

Once every six months to a year (I have two small kids, so it depends on my time constraints), I pull the whole constituent apart. I take the canister apart (very easy to do) and the hoses apart and I give them a thorough washing in soap and hot wastefully. While they say that it doesn't lose suction, I tend to find that as the gunk starts piling up on the suction locality, it looses some of its effectiveness. It's just as easy to give it a wash and keep it working like new. I desert all of the filters and then I soak the hoses, and then I inspect the floor brush to rid it of any clogs or debris that might be slowing it down. The whole alter takes a few hours. I usually wash the parts at night, and then let them soak, while the filters are drying. Then I put it all back together and it's as kindly as new. I've never had to replace a belt or any other part on my Dyson, ever.

When people balk at the price, I put it into perspective. You can spend $80 - $150 bucks (or more) on a new vacuum Per annum, or you can spend the money on the Dyson, and have it last for 5 or more years (I mean, even if the thing died tomorrow, that's still about $120 a year), and have it pay for itself.
Crucial on pet hair but has the weight of a vintage Buick!
Being a Dyson this representation can suck up small farm animals without pausing to chew. The DC15 is a tad on the heavy side and doesn't have the apex adjustment the non-ball model has so carpet/rug edges confuse the poor beast. Whole it's Kung-Foo is strong but it's size does not give you the Zen feeling.
    The rank "BEST VACUUM" ever!!!
I have owned many vacuum's (and some of them payment well over $1000) in my time and I do have small dogs and this Dyson DC15 Animal ball vacuum cleaner is marvellous and unbelievable. It makes vacuuming easy and you will not believe the suction power. It picks up everything even when the canister if full. It is everything and more that Dyson claims. You can vacuum before or after dusting because nothing escapes this cleaner. A lot of cleaners no occasion when you vacuumed with them dust always escaped them. This cleaner is soooooooooooo easy to empty and all I can tell you if you want one GET IT!!! You will be sooo happy you did. If I could have given this a 10 star I would have. This is the best vacuum cleaner ever..... Try it and you will understand!!! I look to the surface to vacuuming and I thought I would never say that in my life. It takes less than half the time to vacuum as it did before I got this DC15. No adjustments to set for the distinct floor types, just turn it on and go..........Simply wonderful and a pleasure to own and use. Oh did I citation I am disabled with limited mobility. As Paul Harvey used to say, now you know the rest of the book!!!
    passion hate relationship
I have wanted a dyson for years but could not exculpate spending the money, I finally broke down a month ago and LOVE it! On the other hand I think dyson could assertive some serious improvements for the price it sells for.
pros: picks up pet hair like no other vac I have ever used. Same goes for any inside information, dust or debris on my floors. it is easy to carry up the stairs, but because of the length of the wand and shortness of the hose it makes it realistic to do the stairs.

cons: I think that the plastic that this vac is made out of is cheap. I know already that there are some small parts that are undoubtedly gonna break sooner or later. not impressed with the wand: kinda aquward to get cast-off to getting the hadle and wand off of the vac. and the hose is too short.

overall. I love this vac and wouldnt pursuit it for anything else. I hate a few things about it, but i have owned a ton of different bagless vacs and they all clog quickly and never pick up all of the per ringlets. They all have multiple filters and are hard to clean and it never works as well as when you take it out of the box. The dyson has simple filters and they are easy to purified and replace. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT
    Unsurpassed Vacuum Cleaner EVER!!
Good finished vacuuming my floor after using my Oreck a day earlier and you would not believe the amount of pet hair that was picked up. My doormat has never looked cleaner. I totally recommend this vacuum cleaner. It was lightweight, easy to manuever and to empty the organization bin was amazing. I didnt have to touch anything or turn anything over! All I did was push a button and it all fell out!
I wish I had bought a DYSON quicker. Goodbye Oreck...you are reassigned to the "old vacuum cleaner" area!

    Luv my Leo
My Miele S58381 Leo vacuum has huge power but is quiet and light weight. No more back aches after vacuuming!
    Miele hang up mortum
I've reluctantly purchased the LEO to repay the Miele De Luxe 401Si purchased in 1996. The reluctance is based on the following annoyances-
. The 401S1 always ran hot
. The 401Si died due to flop of the fan bearing after about 3,000 hours of operation in the course of 13+ years. Miele's fan air is an unsealed ball bearing (made in Singapore) pressed onto the front of the motor armature shaft. The motor and fan connection was manufactured in the USA by Lamb / Ametek (Part Nr. 117923-23).
. After many hours of research and a $200 expenditure, I was unable to unearth an appropriate replacement assembly. A vendor from Valley Stream, NY claimed to have a 117923-23 but sent me a $100 Lamb #115923 (assembled in Mexico).
. Like most "German" companies, Miele principally has the attitude that only 'expert technicians' should repair their machines and is not particularly helpful making replacement parts and exploded diagrams at one's fingertips to the masses.
. It appears that by the time components are due to fail, replacement parts have become unavailable.
. Miele's preference for discontinuing models and introducing new models with little or no published parts or accessory back to front compatibility is not consumer friendly.
Notwithstanding the above, the 401Si was relatively powerful and quiet compared to my Attendant Cable shopvac. Hopefully the S5381 Leo will perform as well or better and my investment in accessories for the 401Si will be to a great extent applicable on the new machine.

The LEO ordered on 27 Jan arrived from Indiana on 3 Feb via UPS, poorly packed with thimbleful cushioning. On the plus side, the Vac has adequate suction and is relatively quiet.
    On the negative side-
Most of the accessories ($300 - $400 good), eg filters, wands, brushes, hoses from the Miele 401Si are not compatible with the Leo.
Most of the Leo's ABS plastic parts are flimsier / thinner than the 401i's.
Leo has three caster wheels compared to 401i's four caster wheels.
Leo's hose link to canister does not swivel, making the hose more prone to kinking and more awkward to preserve.
Leo's power indicator lights are not readily visible in bright sunlight.
Leo's operator guide says power cord should be fully extended to facilitate motor cooling.
Study bristles of Leo's accessories are not very dense / luxurious and crevice tool is quite short.
There is no preparation for vacuum strength adjustment on the handle or wand; only via the motor speed control sited on the canister.
Leo's power brush wand is quite heavy, making it less comfortable for running costs vacuuming.
Leo has no apparent provision for a blower port.

    10 Feb 2010-
By cannibalizing parts from my dead 401Si canister and in set with the 1 1/4" adapter supplied with the Leo, I was able to fashion a connector which permits use of the 401Si hoses on the Leo.

Yes, It's "Only" a Vacuum Cleaner, but...
I was getting uncommonly tired of buying a new vacuum cleaner from Wallyworld every two or three years. When it was time to buy yet another one, I did some research online and discovered a in the seventh heaven of expensive vacuums that I never knew existed. But did I want to pay that much? With Miele's reputation and seven-year motor guarantee, plus more exhaustive research, [...], I decided to take the plunge. I never realized how well my other vacuum cleaners DIDN'T purify! No more exhaustively passing the vacuum over the same area over and over--this gets the mess up in one pass. I have pets and clutch (=big messes!), so I have to replace the bag every two weeks or so, but that's a small price to pay for such an efficient machine. I chose the Leo canister because it has a HEPA screen and a hard floor tool, which is great on the ceramic tile floor that makes up most of the flooring in my company. With just a little carpet to clean, the less-expensive SEB217-3 power head is adequate for me rather than the SEB236 upgrade. It still cleans better than any of my old vacuums. And did I mention how quiet it is? It's not silent, but it's a whole lot quieter than I appropriate. The dogs and cats still don't like it, though :)

So this is how the other partly lives!!
Having struggled with amoral super-heavy, badly-designed, dust-regurgitating Kenmore vacuum cleaners, esp. their perpendicular model, I finally decided to spend money I haven't got and get a really good vacuum cleaner that will strike the dust problem in my old house and protect my baby's breathing.

So the Miele libra has entered my memoirs as of today and it's ...well a revelation. I no longer have to get my husband to help me get the machine out of the closet, and tidiness the hallway carpet with it was like gliding on air...so easy and effortless. It fits nimbly under shit, including old dressers and sideboards (that's a big reason why I wanted this power brush, not just that it's cheaper than the other two) which is so outstanding for me; and is both light and powerful. And quiet. About choosing a power brush: I have just one thickish (old, and i'd like to get rid of it) rug, and I find that this power brush does require some muscle work to move over it, but it is OK and sure picks up the accoutrements. It just doesn't glide as effortlessly as over the other carpets. But I am glad I didn't spend another 50 bucks getting a representation with a power brush that might have handled just that one carpet easier because it just wdn't have made sense. I also have some wood flooring, for which the spry parquet swivel brush works very well.

Now I don't have to go through the immense hassle of moving baby's crib every in good time always I want to vacuum under it! I don't have to mess around with crappy little attachment brushes with no power only just to tackle spaces narrower than a freeway. May Kenmore rot in a ditch!! Finally I will be able to thoroughly my large, dust-prone home without misery and exhaustion! (Maybe i'll be able to exist again too....)

oh, and if you are totally bewildered by the big range of Miele v. cleaners, there is a website [...] which has a great buying beacon. But before buying via that website, do compare their prices with amazon, I saw that for some model they're more expensive...and as for the 'no tax' thing, amazon.com didn't care me tax either (and I have 'prime' so I got 2-day shipping free).

I intend to update this review when I've had it longer...

Review: Dyson DC31 Animal |House of Bella - Furniture, Home Decor ...

Dyson DC31 Carnal is the in the most suitable way handheld vacuum I have ever acquainted with! It got so much embedded scuttlebutt from the doormat that my Bissell® CleanView® Helix Standing up Vacuum ($89.99) didn't get, and the Bissell is a bonny embroider upright vacuum! Choicest of all, it is honest at picking up those accidental pet hairs that pressurize me up the bulwark. This vacuum is so foolproof to use, and stays charged for a want yet! It doesn't without a hitch give up on me in mid-organization. The suction still goes on effective even when the freestyle is low. The incriminate in tongue-lash tells you when the power is about to run out, and the assessment is adept - 3.5 hours. This vacuum also has a lifetime riddle, which means you don't ever have to take over from it! This is commodities dirt to me, because replacing filters can be dear. All you have to do is shower the gauze once a month and let it dry 12 hours before habit. The digital motor uses much less energy than stock motors with running at a loss suction. It spins up to 104,000 times a shake and doesn't vent carbon dust. The outcome in this review article was provided to the reviewer for the have a mind of review a flyover. Dyson Vacuums?

Q: I currently have a Bissell bagless. It principled seems where I live (rural area) I am vacuuming 3-4 times a week and although I take the vacuum but for and clean regularly, it just doesn't seem to pick-up like I propose b assess it should.

Anyone have an opinion on the Dyson vacuum cleaners? I am considering purchasing one and would like to have knowledge of what you like or dislike about it. Thank you

A: I Taste mine! I had a Kirby for a few years and was never all that thrilled with it. I was always told those were one of the best vacuums you could buy (I would hope so for the amount of capital I spent for it). I went and bought a Dyson Animal and am soooooo much happier with it. I am continually recommending it to people. In fact, my boss actually had me order one for him since I talked about it so much! :o)

My penchant part about the Dyson is how you can see how well its working by how often you have to empty the collection chamber. I've heard some people complain about it not holding enough, but I look at it like it's in point of fact doing an awesome job if I have to empty it a couple of times in one vacuuming session. And this is when I vacuum twice a week!

Also, I girlfriend how easy it is to go from carpet to hard floors. Since I have a lot of tile in my house, it's courteous to be able to vacuum the floors then go straight to cleaning the tile without having to earn c lower out the broom. Plus, you can easily pull out the hose from the handle to cleanse corners, tight spaces, etc. without having to fumble with attachments.

Even though $500 is a lot of banknotes for a vacuum (I stupidly spent more for my Kirby), the Dyson is definately worth every penny!

Are Dyson Vacuums all they are cracked up to be?

Q: I am reasoning about purchasing the Dyson Animal Vacuum (the purple one). Before I spend $550, I would like to get some feedback from going round owners of any Dyson vacuum. Is it really worth the money?

A: Don't attend to consumer reports for everything. I have bought horrible products a few of which have class influence lawsuits pending.. that they have rated wonderful. The Dyson is amazing, I have had the Animal for 3 years zero problems. I am still in awe over this party. I highly recommend it. By the way, the only difference in the Animal (purple) and their standard (yellow) is the Savage has more attachments...that honestly I could live without for the extra $100. I have 3 dogs and this clique is a miracle!

Are 'Dyson' vacuums,or Electrolux Intensity worth paying for?

Q: I call for to get a good vacuum cleaner for the house it seems with all the carpet mine die within 6 months (I've by only spent about $50-80 on the ones I bought in the past). Was wondering if anyone has occupied a Dyson vac., or the Electrolux Intensity Vacuum worth the extra money? Or is there another label anyone recommends? Thanks.

A: Dyson is the defeat hoover I have ever used. period!

Even when the carpet looks clean I can hoover it and with my Dyson there is a lot of dust and loam in the clear cylinder. They really are worth the money in my opinion.
