I fianc my rug doctor
I have owned other steam cleaners. Nothing has ever prove to be c finish close to the power of a rug doctor. Even though we already have a cheaper steam cleaner I would still go and rent a Rug Doctor before Christmas and birthdays. I longing we never wasted money on cheaper models. After many years of renting I decided to spring and buy a Rug Medical doctor, thinking that with all the times I've rented I spent enough to have bought one already. Now that I bought my own I have no regrets. I love it. The other reviewer had a few complaints about enormousness and getting into corners etc... but I think those problems would be solved by buying the smaller facsimile the Mighty Pro Plus. It is smaller, lighter weight, and therefore moves easier and gets nearer to the edges. Not to mention the the smaller, easier to use model is much cheaper. I got mine for $500 and it came with the upholstry gadget, 3 bottles of cleaning solutions, a five year warrenty, and free shipping. It was agreat large. I have used both Wide Track and Mighty Pro many times and prefer the smaller one. That is what I own. I think the Roomy Track is best for big buildings, while the Mighty Pro Plus is better for homes and getting around appliances.I think they should have done more research about the product before leaving a negative review. You don't buy the Wide Track and cry that it isn't good for spot cleaning. That's silly. I totally recommend any rug doctor if you want your rug to stay looking nice for a lifetime. I have a 2 year old and a 3 1/2 year old spilling snacks, painting the floor, and all the thing kids can do. Plus a large hairy dog and 3 cats. You would never be gifted to tell by looking at my carpet. It looks brand new. The cost of this unit doesn't even compair to the set someone back of getting new carpet for a wholw house. Usually after I spend a lot of money on something I regret it, but this was a important purchase. Trust me you will love yours too.

Very salutary cleaner but has draw backs
I own 2 Bissel cleaners, 1 pro tension and the other is even older. I wanted to try one of these thinking I might buy one because my other 2 are getting some age on them and I have had to repair the oldest one. This unit does a very sufficient job as long as you are cleaning out in the middle of a room (away from walls & ect.). The brush on it agitates back and forth so it will get both sides of the nap. It however does not get very closely guarded to edges and when you start cleaning it doesn't start putting out solution very close to the front so you have to have attatchments to get mingy to walls, stairways, large furniture that you may not want to move each time you clean ect. Also it is big which makes it more risky for spot cleaning. I don't know if it really cleaned THAT much better than my pro heat (I bought it when they first came out a few years ago - it's not the newest facsimile), but you don't have to stop and add water/clean the pickup tank nearly as often. Another drawback to this machine is that you have to mix the organization solution and the water. On the Bissels, you have seperate tanks and if you want to go all water to rinse a mark you just cleaned or go heavier on the cleaning solution for grimier areas, you can just exchange a knob. Also in the commericals they would have you believe that the carpets will dry faster. I'm not sure if that is true.
Don't get me wrong, it is a very eulogistic cleaner, and it is built like a tank, I'm not sure it is worth almost $1000 ($800 more than the newer Bissel we have which also heats the be unbelievable, or keeps it good and hot anyway).
We have 3 dogs and 1 clutsy teenage boy still at home, and they keep me busy cleaning carpets. If it categorically did THAT much better of a job than what I have, I would buy one. Or maybe if the price was a little more in line, at least $300 cheaper. I hope this helps.

The Rug Doctor of medicine is not the most stylish carpet cleaner, but it definitely is a simple, strongly constructed work horse that gets the job done. You restraint the speed at which you pull it over your carpet, and I suggest you review the infomercial that shows the speed to tug it to get the best results.
If you have a small apartment then you won't need the WIDE model, but if you have an above average judge house you'll be glad you got the WIDE model.
In addition to the instructions, I like to finish organization my carpet with a single clear hot water rinse to remove the cleaner residue. I do this since I assume the small amount of cleaner residue tends to cause the carpet to re-soil itself faster. Also, on sustenance cleanings try and use a bit less than the suggested amount of cleaner added to the hot water. Use hot, not just warm not be sensible, and be sure to empty the collection tank the same day; otherwise, it will begin to smell really bad odors.
Periodically, take the values bright and early to clean the brush since it can become clogged with animal hairs, etc. Better yet, use a Dyson vacuum first to cleanse up all the little fuss stuff, animal hairs, etc. - I use a Dyson DC18 Slim and it makes my Rug General practitioner do a much better job.

Penniless design is what makes this worthless
Looks like a most luxurious product but as others have mentioned, the solution cap doesn't fit well. No biggie you think until you realize that after filling the explication, it mounts upside down with the cap pointed downwards. If the cap isn't mounted tight, the solution will leak all over the crush in a matter of minutes. I stripped out the first solution tank within a month of purchasing it. New ones aren't tuppence either even though there isn't much to them. I have been very careful with the second one, but have to mess with it for a good 5 to 10 minutes before I can get it to fit without leaking (it has an O ring that will exudation if is a little off kilter).
Been a while since purchasing it and I have had it. Posting it on craigslist and getting rig of this piece 'o garbage.

Cleans expert . . . but quits spraying on third use
This contraption worked very nice the first two times I used it. Then, like so many other customers, my unit quit spaying. Stable enough, I took mine apart like those before me, and the heater was plugged up with lime and calcium. Terrible purpose flaw. Rather than attempting to fix it, I bypassed the heater with a piece of my own tubing. It works great now, minus the "superfluous-hot" water. If you buy this, use ONLY distilled water in the one gallon tank. The manufacturer should have thought of this. One nice id I will say about the 1699. . . it IS powerful and picks up a lot of deep down dirt.

Bissell 1699-C Steam Cleaner No Stretch
As a few others have mentioned, when this segment is working, it works well. We have had this unit for about 2 years now. Have used it twice. No problems until the other day - no spray from the nozzles at the confound level when pulling the trigger - but the hand tool spray was working. The heater (sited behind the on/off switch - 4 screws & 2 bolts/nuts) was plugged. I dug out the crap at the inlet mooring with a small nail & blew air until it flowed out the outlet port. Hooked it back up & now it's working well. I'm in to use the heater though for fear of it clogging again, but at least I know what to do.

Q: I have a Bissell vacuum with the removable canister for clear disposal.
I was vacuuming on the basement floor one day, not realizing a rug was wet from an over-flow from the air conditioner.
Anyway, it didn't wound the sweeper, but it now stinks every time I use it.I have thoroughly washed the canister and the filters, but it still reeks.

A: I soaked my shampooer cavity outside with bleach one time to get rid of the smell from mine when I put it away with out dumping on accessary got side tracked with kids and somebody else put it away for me actually without dumping.Next but I used it it stunk so I soaked it in the hot water with lots of bleach exterior on porch for a day.Got rid of smell.

I have been having the vacuum for 4 years and so far have been sustained very well. During the warranty, I have taken my vacuum three times. 1st time they gave me a new adjunct because the old one didn’t work properly. 2nd time they changed my filter. And the 3rd mores they changed the inside filter, cleaned the outside filter, regular the motor, and changed the belt. Thanks
